Schalke v Borussia Monchengladbach - Sunday 16:30, BT Sport Europe
Schalke have lost all five of their games so far this season whilst scoring just two goals to leave new manager Markus Weinzierl already under serious pressure. Monchengladbach have won all three of their home games but are still searching for their first win on the road.
While Schalke have lost both their home games so far this season, they were against Bayern and Koln, who have started the season strongly and are up in 3rd. If we exclude games against Bayern, Schalke have lost only four of 17 home games since the start of last season and they won all four of their home games against teams that finished between 4th and 8th last term.
Monchengladbach have won just one of their last 13 on the road, losing eight of these games and in that sense can be described as the German equivalent to Sevilla; excellent at home but ordinary away. Indeed, Monchengladbach lost eight of their 10 trips to sides in the top-11 last season and with Schalke showing some signs of form in the Europa League having won at Ligue 1 leaders Nice and also at home to Salzburg on Thursday night, we’re backing them to get their first league win.
