Ajax v Willem II - Saturday 18:45, Sky Sports 5
Ajax are seeking to wrestle the Eredivisie title off PSV this season, who pipped them by just two points last term. They drew their opening home game against Roda but they’re as short 1.3 to pick up three points here against a Willem side that finished down in 16th last term and have lost their opening two games.
Peter Bosz takes over from Frank de Boer this season and will look to continue Ajax’s excellent home record that saw them win 13 of their 17 games last term, with nine wins by more than two goals. When hosting bottom-four sides they’re W16-D4-L0 since 2011/12, leading at half-time and full-time in 12 of these games and with 10 of their wins by more than two goals. Skipper Davy Klaassen found the net from the penalty spot in their Champions League qualifier in midweek – his fourth goal in four games – and we always like siding with penalty takers in goalscorer markets, so we’ll take him to score anytime.
Willem have lost 10 of their 18 road games since the start of last season, trailing at the break in half of these and failing to score in all four of their trips to top-four sides last term. As a result, we’re backing Ajax to be ahead at half-time and full-time, and to win without conceding.
