Heroic Hazard heaps pain on non-owners in gameweek 5 hat-trick haul.
A total of 39 points and 2 price boosted winners from my picks last week means I can now show my face round the office once again.
Averages so far:
Banker – 10.5pts
Value – 3pts
Wildcard – 7.125pts
Banker – Romelu Lukaku – 11.0m
Big Rom is owned by just 10.6% of FPL managers despite becoming joint-top goalscorer (4 goals) in just 4 starts. Lukaku is pretty much guaranteed 90 minutes, which is great for us and our quest in maximising opportunities to score points – he’s had 14 shots in the box, 8 of which have been on target and no other player has received more than his 7 big chances.
Wolves, who travel to Old Trafford, have been solid in defence so far but Mourinho’s Red Devils seem to be clicking into gear and if United score, it is likely the big Belgian will be involved.
Value – Aleksandar Mitrović – 6.8m
The Fulham favourite has continued his fine 2018 form and has 4 goals and 1 assist to his name so far this term. At 22.7% ownership he’s gained quite the following and with good reason - Sergio Agüero is the only forward to take more shots or score more points than him this season.
The Cottager’s opponents, Watford, have been resolute so far but they’re in the top 5 for conceding headed chances (13) – with 40% of the Serb’s efforts coming from his head, he could be the difference between the teams this Saturday.
Wildcard – Raheem Sterling – 11.0m
Despite an incredibly impressive season last year, the England starlet has only 2.9% ownership, mostly due to a hefty price hike from 8.0m to 11.0m but with 3 goals in 4 appearances he shows no signs of regression on the pitch.
Sterling is taking 3.3 shots and providing 1.8 key passes per game and is also in the top 10 midfielders for baseline bonus. There’s always the threat of Pep roulette but with a plump tie away against Cardiff, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get a double figure points score.
