Real Betis v Deportivo La Coruna - Friday 19:45, Sky Sports 2
Two sides with contrasting results in their opening fixtures face-off at the Estadio Benito Villamarín here on Friday evening. Betis were thrashed 6-2 by a rampant Barca at the Nou Camp but a Lucas Perez-inspired Depor gave Gaizka Garitano a debut win as they beat Eibar 2-1.
Betis were the lowest scorers in the division last season managing only 34 goals. Despite this, they managed to finish up in 10th in what was a tightly congested bottom-half of the table. In an attempt to increase their goal tally they have brought in Antonio Sanabria from Roma after he impressed last season on loan at Sporting Gijon, and they may draw some encouragement from the fact that they managed to score twice at Barca, albeit in a heavy defeat.
Depor drew a staggering 18 matches last season, 10 of which were away from the Estadio Riazor and we think this streak could continue on Friday, so we’re backing the stalemate.
They drew 10 of the games they played against top-half sides last term and Betis will surely be more cagey in their approach here as they look to get off the mark for the season and as a result we wouldn’t put anyone off backing the 0-0 correct score.
