Malaga v Villarreal Saturday 17:15, Sky Sports 2
New managers Juande Ramos and Fran Escriba have picked up a pair of draws each in their new roles at Malaga and Villarreal respectively. Both sides have looked well organised and will look to gain their first wins of the new season on Saturday evening.
These are two sides who build their success from having a defence which is difficult to break down and makes few mistakes. Both sides conceded just 35 goals last term, the fourth fewest in the division. There have however been changes amongst both defences with Eric Bailly leaving the Yellow Submarine for Manchester United and Bakary Kone joining Malaga from Lyon. Bailly in particular looks sure to be a miss given his first few performances for United.
Whilst both sides have been strong defensively, they’ve struggled up the other end of the pitch, notching 38 and 44 goals respectively the last campaign. Indeed, both sides were involved in a lot of low scoring matches during the 2015/16 season, with 26 of Malaga’s and 23 of Villarreal’s matches seeing fewer than three goals. As such, we’re backing Draw and Under 2.5 Goals.
