Malaga v Eibar - Tuesday 19:00, Sky Sports 2
Malaga continued their slow start under Juande Ramos as they were beaten at Las Palmas on Saturday and as a result have just two points from their four games. Eibar, conversely, managed to rescue a point at home to Sevilla, despite being reduced to nine men as they continue to impress in the top division for such a small club, currently sitting in 7th.
Malaga finished up in 8th last term, which was their highest finish since 2011/12, and their success was built largely on a solid defence that was the fourth best in the league. They could only manage 38 strikes themselves as their games saw fewer goals than anyone else in the division and worryingly for Ramos those struggles in front of goal have continued this season, while they’re also now struggling at the back and are yet to keep a clean sheet.
Eibar’s win at Granada in their last road game was their first away win in 12 games as they’d lost nine of 11 prior to that. However, they’ve avoided defeat in half of their 10 trips to sides that finished between 6th and 10th in the last couple of seasons, with each of their defeats by just a single goal.
Malaga certainly aren’t playing like a top-half side at the moment while Eibar are flying, so we’re going to take on Juande Ramos’s men at odds-on and are backingEibar or Draw Double Chance.
