PSV v Sparta - Saturday 18:45, Sky Sports 5
PSV continue to struggle this term as they’ve managed just one win in their last four to leave themselves down in 4th, already nine points behind the flying Feyenoord, the only side to have beaten them so far. Sparta have drawn their last two, like PSV, and currently sit in 8th in their return to the division after relegation in 2009/10.
Since beating Alkmaar in their opening home game, PSV have managed just two points from their last three in front of their own fans and have scored just twice at the Philips Stadion all season. However, they remain strong defensively as they’ve also conceded just twice, while their record when hosting promoted teams is W5-D1-L0 since 2014/15 as they scored at least twice in five of these games.
Sparta have lost two of their last three on the road and are yet to travel to a side currently in the top six, so this undoubtedly represents their toughest test to date. We think they’ll come unstuck against a PSV side that will know they can’t afford to drop any more points and we’re backing Cocu’s men to come out on top. However, since they’ve been level at the break in all four of their home games, while Sparta have trailed at the break only three times this season, we’re taking a chance on the Draw/PSV Half Time/Full Time at 4.75.
