Lille v Toulouse - Tuesday 18:00, BT Sport ESPN
After finishing 5th last term, it’s been a slow start to the season for Lille, who’ve only managed to pick up four points from their five games after they were beaten 1-0 at struggling Lorient on Saturday. It’s been a much better start for Toulouse, however, and they look as if they might avoid their customary relegation battle as they find themselves in 6th with eight points.
Lille will be glad to get back to the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, where they’ve only lost one of their last 10, keeping an impressive seven clean sheets but only scoring more than once in two of these games. Indeed, they were the second best defensively in Ligue 1 last term, but they could only find the net 39 times themselves as their games saw fewer goals than anyone else in the division.
Pascal Dupraz came in at the end of last season to keep Toulouse up as they won half their last 10 games and they’ve certainly taken that form into this campaign. However, their improvement has largely been at home as they’ve only managed one win in their last 11 road games, failing to score in seven of these games, but also conceding more than twice just once.
Indeed, as eight of Lille’s 10 home wins since the start of last season were 1-0 or 2-0, we’re going to back Lille to Win and Under 2.5 Goals.
