Marseille v Metz - Sunday 19:45, BT Sport Europe
Marseille continue to struggle as they’ve won just twice in their eight games so far this season to leave them down in 14th, after they could only manage 13th last term. It’s been a much better start for promoted Metz, who have won half of their games so far and as a result are up in 8th, despite the fact that they’ve already played Monaco and PSG.
Marseille drew a remarkable 18 times last term and have now drawn 13 of their 23 home games since the start of last season, including 11 of their last 16. They managed to score more than twice in just one of these games but have managed clean sheets in four of their last five and as a result have tended to be an ‘unders’ team, with 11 of their last 14 at the Stade Velodrome seeing fewer than three strikes.
While Metz were thumped 7-0 by Monaco at home prior to the international break, they’ve been very good defensively on the road, with clean sheets at Montpellier, Dijon and Nantes. That, together with the fact that they’ve managed just one goal in their last four means Under 2.5 Goals is our standout selection and since four of Marseille’s last seven at home and Metz’s last two on the road saw fewer than two strikes, we’re also going to back Under 1.5 Goals at 4.5.
