Houston Dynamo v New York City - Saturday 01:00, Sky Sports 2
Houston remain bottom of the Western Conference but they’ve improved dramatically in recent weeks, winning their last two games to give themselves an outside chance of making the playoffs. They’re nine points behind Seattle in 6th but they do have a game in hand and a win here would see them go up to 8th. City, meanwhile, are fighting it out at the top of the Eastern Conference, where they’re just one point behind Toronto.
Houston have now lost only one of their last seven while their home record this term is W5-D7-L2 as high-flyers Dallas and Galaxy are the only sides to have beaten them. Both teams have netted in Houston’s last five at the BBVA Compass Stadium but eight of their last 10 at home have had fewer than three goals.
City have won six of their last seven at home, but they’re winless in their last five on the road, losing three of these games whilst conceding eight in their last three. That’s despite the fact that their last four away have been against sides that are in the bottom four of their conference. Furthermore, they are without Frank Lampard, whose enjoyed an excellent season, and with that in mind we’re backing Houston to continue on their upward curve and win to make it three on the bounce.
