Burnley have a golden opportunity to bag an early three points against a depleted Swansea.
Burnley v Swansea - Saturday 15:00
Burnley won the Championship last season as they lost only five of their 46 games to return to the Premier League at the first attempt. They begin against Francesco Guidolin’s Swansea, who have just lost their star player from last season, Andre Ayew, and now look very of attacking options despite the signing of Fernando Llorente from Sevilla.
Turf Moor was a relative fortress for the Clarets in 2014/15 as they managed impressive wins over Man City and Southampton. The Swans weren’t the best travelers last season as they lost 10 of their road games whilst only managing four wins. In fact, they lost all three of their trips to the promoted teams and have lost six of their nine visits to Premier League newcomers since 2013/14.
With Swansea’s depleted attack – they’ve also sold Eder, Alberto Paloschi and Bafetimbi Gomis this summer – we’re siding with the Clarets in this one and, after Andre Gray top-scored in the Championship last term, he’s worth backing to open the scoring.
