Liverpool v Leicester - Saturday 17:30, BT Sport 1
Liverpool can count themselves unlucky not to have won against Spurs, but will have to show more consistency in front of goal with only three of their 13 attempts actually on target. Jurgen Klopp’s side can be maddening at times, but despite their profligacy they rarely fail to find the back of the net, only doing so once in their last 17 matches. With Saido Mane fit for this clash and their most clinical finisher Daniel Sturridge ready from the bench if needed, it’s hard to see Liverpool not getting a goal.
Leicester looked sharp against Swansea and battled at the end amidst the splashing to preserve the victory, though in truth their domination should have seen them wrap up the three points quite comfortably. Jamie Vardy got his first goal of the season and should enjoy playing against Liverpool’s slow and ponderous centre-back paring of Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip, especially given the lack of time they’ve had to build a partnership and the space Liverpool leave in behind as a result of their incessant pressing. At a price of 3.85, Jamie Vardy to score anytime looks a decent bet.
In what should be a gung-ho contest we’re backing Leicester/both teams to score at 10.0 which looks phenomenal value about the Champions. Furthermore, Football Form Labs subscribers will have seen our analysis of Klopp teams last week that suggests they are vulnerable in the second half, so it could pay to take Liverpool on in-running as they tire themselves out with their high-octane pressing tactics.
