The Clarets have won their last five in a row.
Burnley v Chelsea – Thursday 19:45, Sky Sports
The Clarets are on their best run all season having won their last five, but no doubt the Blues will provide a sterner test than recent obstacles. Chelsea battled back from two goals down last weekend against Southampton and have now won three of their last four when playing teams below them in the league. However, with only two wins from their last seven on the road – and both of these against bottom-half sides – we can’t be backing Antonio Conte’s side and prefer the draw instead.
Burnley haven’t given their home support too many goals to celebrate this term, scoring fewer than any other side at home this season. As a result, 12 of their 16 games at Turf Moor have seen fewer than three goals, while Chelsea have also had this in seven of their last 11 when facing top-half opposition, with six of these seeing no more than a single strike.
Sean Dyche’s men have scored just 14 times in their 16 home games this term but neither Manchester club could score more than once past them here as they recorded a 1-1 draw against newly crowned champions Man City. That’s the same score as two of the last four meetings between these two while Chelsea have only managed to score more than a single strike in one of their previous four away matches, against relegation-threatened Saints.
