Now to the men's final between Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray which would not have taken too much predicting beforehand. Before Rome last month, the Serb had won their four previous meetings pretty comfortably. Then Murray beat him well in the Italian capital with Djokovic feeling the effects of a long week as discussed in my opening column of this tournament.

Both men produced their best performances last time out with Djokovic imperious against Dominic Thiem and Murray too good for defending champion Stan Wawrinka. So who do we go for here?
Our each-way bet on Murray has already landed and perhaps he can draw on the inspiration of his hero Muhammad Ali to land a knockout blow on the world number one. He is playing better than 12 months ago when he took Djokovic to five sets in the semi-finals and I am hopeful, rather than confident, he can come out on top. We'll have a go on Murray +1.5 sets in a match I just cannot predict with too much confidence.
