Philadelphia 76ers @ Chicago Bulls - Saturday 00:05

The Bulls welcome the Philadelphia 76ers to Chicago on Friday and the hosts are in need of a win as they push for a playoff place.

Chicago brought in Dwayne Wade in the offseason and postseason involvement should have been the minimum requirement but they sit in ninth place in the Eastern Conference.

Wade has been ruled out for the rest of the regular season with an elbow injury but Chicago have performed fairly well in his absence, beating Detroit and Utah convincingly at home and falling to narrow defeats at Washington and Toronto.

The Sixers, who are without Joel Embiid, bring a record of 4-16 in their last 20 games on the road and have little other than pride to play for.  The head-to-head record is also telling, as they have lost all of their last 14 games against Chicago.

The Bulls are 3-3 at home through March but they have won their last two games in Chicago after consecutive defeats to LA Clippers, Houston Rockets and Memphis Grizzlies.  Fred Hoiberg’s team appear to have emerged from a damaging slump in form that began at the start of the month and can record a comfortable win over Philadelphia to boost their postseason hopes.

The Sixers did perform well in defeat at Golden State earlier this month and picked up impressive home wins over Dallas and Boston. However, since then Philadelphia have lost in overtime against a poor Orlando Magic outfit and their last road trip saw them slump to a blowout loss at Oklahoma City Thunder. The Bulls overcame Detroit by a 22-point margin in their last home game after a nine point win over the Jazz so back the hosts to overcome the -6.5 line on the points spread.
