Washington Wizards @ Boston Celtics Betting - Sunday 18:10

Boston Celtics survived a scare in the first round of the playoffs but after four straight wins they carry real momentum into their Conference Semifinal match-up with the Washington Wizards.

The Celtics went 2-0 down against eighth seeds Chicago Bulls but they managed to respond and secure a 4-2 series win, which they wrapped-up with a dominant 105-83 win at the United Center on Friday.

Had Bulls star and former Boston man Rajon Rondo not sustained an injury ahead of Game 3 it may have been a different story but that's irrelevant now, and the Celtics look well placed to move through to the Eastern Conference Finals with home court advantage in their next best-of-seven series.

The two teams shared the regular season series 2-2 as Boston won both games at TD Gardens and the Wizards were victorious in their home matches.

Washington were excellent at home throughout the regular season with a record of 30-11 but on the road they were less impressive with just 19 wins in 41 games.

The Celtics had the same home record as the Wizards but they did manage a winning record on their travels, just, going 23-18.

The postseason has been a little different for Boston as they’ve managed just one win in three attempts at the TD Garden, while Washington picked up one win in three trips to Atlanta Hawks, losing by at least 10 points in both losses.

It should be a close series between these two fairly evenly matches teams but Boston's home form, aside from the two losses to Chicago, and the Wizards' struggles on the road suggests the Celtics can claim a 1-0 lead when the two contest Game 1 on Sunday.

The Eastern Conference's No1 seed won by at least an eight-point margin in both home matches against Washington during the regular season and, with the spread set at -4.5, Brad Stevens' Boston look a good bet to beat that handicap in Game 1.
