5 minHeisman Watch: Ranking the Top 5 Heisman Odds Candidates Heading into Week 6
The 2024 college football season has been electric to say the least, with the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide providing a game for the ages last week. Jalen Milroe sent himself to the top of the Heisman odds leaderboard with a four-touchdown domination in the victory, including the game-winner.
Week 6 has a bit of a lighter slate, with only one ranked matchup between Missouri and Texas A&M. With that being said, every player on this list is a double-digit favorite in their matchup this week, so they should be primed to put up big stats against inferior opponents.
Let's take a look at the latest Heisman odds to see who has built a case for themselves so far, and how they will fare over the next few weeks of action.

Heisman Watch: Top 5 Heisman Odds
1. Jalen Milroe (+270) Click here to see the latest Heisman odds
Jalen Milroe exploded against Georgia, putting on the best performance of his career at the perfect time. The Alabama Crimson Tide bolted out to a four-touchdown lead in the first 20 minutes of the game, and Milroe had his hand in three of them. While Georgia did storm back, Milroe saved the day with a final 75-yard touchdown to freshman Ryan Williams to put the game away for the Tide. He has now accounted for 18 total touchdowns in just four games, with over 1,200 total yards to go with it. After starting with +1100 odds at the beginning of the season, Milroe has cemented himself as the leader at +270, and will look to stat-pad over the next two weeks ahead of a showdown with the No. 4 Tennessee Volunteers that will likely make or break his campaign.
2. Travis Hunter (+350) Click here to see the latest Heisman odds
Travis Hunter is vying to be the first two-way Heisman trophy winner since Charles Woodson in 1999 for the Michigan Wolverines. Hunter already has 500 yards receiving on offense, with six touchdowns to accompany it. He's on the field for nearly every play, and has two interceptions and three pass defenses on defense so far. Hunter is a huge difference-maker for the Colorado Buffaloes, and aided them to a major upset as a 14-point underdog against UCF last week. If Hunter can continue making plays on both sides of the ball, the Heisman voters will have a hard time keeping him away from the award.
3. Cam Ward (+550) Click here to see the latest Heisman odds
The Miami Hurricanes escaped in a thriller against Virginia Tech last week that came down to the final Hail Mary in the end zone. Cam Ward's odds likely would have tanked if he hadn't led the comeback after starting with two interceptions. Ward showed great poise and calm in the pocket as he rallied the Hurricanes in the second half from a double-digit deficit. The Canes have a major ACC test against the Cal Bears in Berkeley tomorrow night on ESPN College Gameday. The Bears are making noise this year, and the Canes are -10 on the road at Cal. Ward will have to continue to lift the Canes if he's going to stay in this race with Milroe and the others.
4. Ashton Jeanty (+750) Click here to see the latest Heisman odds
Ashton Jeanty has come out of the woodwork this season, and looks like a prime Derrick Henry on the field at Boise State. Jeanty's ridiculousness is on display with his current touchdown odds, which sit at -3500 to score against Utah State. An unprecedented number for a touchdown scorer, and to get even crazier, his odds to score 3+ are -155. He has run for 845 yards and 13 touchdowns already this season in just four games, and he was taken out at halftime in one of those games before even scoring. He has a 64-yard or longer carry in every single game so far, hasn't fumbled, and nearly has the Broncos at a perfect 4-0 record. If not for Oregon's two kick return touchdowns in Week 2, Boise was poised to pull the massive upset. If Jeanty can stay healthy, he can carry this team to the Group of 5 playoff spot. They are sitting at ripe +200 odds to steal that bid, and have a fairly favorable schedule the rest of the way outside of a ranked showdown with UNLV. Watch as Jeanty continues to pile up touchdowns on the blue turf.
5. Nico Iamaleava (+1100) Click here to see the latest Heisman odds
Nico Iamaleava has climbed slightly from his original offseason odds, but hasn't moved much in recent weeks. Tennessee didn't play last week, but Iamaleava has already led the team to prime time wins over NC State and Oklahoma on the road. He also put up monstrous stats in several of their non-conference blowout wins. Iamaleava and the Vols are set for another big test on Saturday night on the road against the Arkansas Razorbacks, while the game of the year looms in two weeks against Alabama. Iamaleava will try to continue carrying the Vols with help from RB Dylan Sampson, and he should remain in contention ahead of that top-5 showdown with the Crimson Tide.
