Toronto Blue Jays vs. Seattle Mariners Prediction
Seattle just finished their series with the Orioles, one of the best teams in baseball. They lost the first two games in low scoring affairs, but their bats broke out in the final game yesterday, leading them to a win. After their bats showed up in yesterday’s series finale, I want to fade the Mariners offense against the veteran Gausman on Friday.
Luckily for Seattle, I’m expecting Luis Castillo to pitch just as well as Kevin Gausman in the first game of this series. He hasn’t been the best version of himself of late, but the Blue Jays struggle against right-handed pitching. This Toronto team already looks dead and we’re not even at the All Star break yet. They have dropped four of their previous five games, scoring three or less runs in each loss. I’m not expecting their offense to wake up in one of the most notorious “pitchers parks” in baseball.
The total in this game opened up at 7.5 before sharps steamed the total down to 7. That’s an interesting move considering less than 25% of the bets and handle (on VSiN) are currently backing this under. Considering both of these big name starters have struggled this season, I was pleasantly surprised by this move on the total, especially after Seattle’s offensive performance yesterday. This under looks like one of the sharpest plays on the MLB slate…
Kevin Gausman and Luis Castillo aren’t going to struggle all season. It’s only a matter of time before both aces get back on track, and watching the total drop down from 7.5 to 7 in the first game of this series, I wouldn’t be surprised if that day is today. Fade the public and take the under in this late-night game between two big name veterans; I’ll meet you at the cash counter after they both throw gems.
