5 minBest Bets Today: Thursday's MLB Parlay from Calling Our Shot
Welcome to the daily parlay, brought to you by Calling Our Shot. We had cashed three straight parlays prior to yesterday, where we watched the Phillies struggle to do anything. Today, we look to bounce back. Let's get to it.
THURSDAY'S MLB PARLAY
LEG 1: Royals & Astros Both 2+ Runs Full Game
Our first leg of the Parlay is: Royals and Astros each to score two runs. This leg of the parlay is an alternate team total for each team over 1.5 runs (you can Same Game Parlay it if you want). Often times, most books will give you better odds if you find the 'Both To Score X+ Runs' market than taking them in a Same Game Parlay (helpful tip!).
The Astros will face Brady Singer. Singer owns a 4.04 ERA on the Road (much worse). His last 4 outings against the Astros: 2, 4, 7 & 1 ER. Following him will be a Royals bullpen that hasn't been great recently. Hunter Brown will have to face the Royals. Brown has been great...but he relies heavily on strikeouts, something the Royals don't do. They are elite vs. Right Hand Pitching as well. They saw Hunter Brown in his 3rd start of the year. He didn't even make it out of the 1st Inning recording only two outs, allowing 11 hits and nine Earned Runs. We don't need ALL of that to happen. Just two runs will do!
LEG 2: Orioles & Dodgers Both 1+ Runs in the First 5 Innings
Our second leg of the Parlay: Orioles and Dodgers Each to Score 1 First 5 innings. This leg of the parlay needs each team to score at least one run through the first 5 innings of this game.
There should be runs early and often in this game between two starting pitchers that are in a position to get rocked. The Orioles face Bobby Miller and the Dodgers. Miller has allowed 3+ Earned Runs in five of his last six starts. Miller’s xERA is 6.49 which is in the worst percentile of eligible pitchers. The big bats of the Orioles will get to him today. Miller also has a 48% hard hit rate which is one of the highest I’ve seen this season. On the other side, we need at least one run from the Dodgers. That will come against Cade Povich. Povich struggles to miss bats this season with only a 15% K rate and 10.5% barrel %. Playing at home, the Dodgers will be motivated to win this series and they’ll come out firing against Povich early in this game.
