Phillies vs. Cubs Same-Game Parlay: Can Pete Crow-Armstrong, Cubs Take Sunday Night Baseball Rubber Match?
Two of the most popular MLB franchises go head-to-head at the iconic Wrigley Field when the Chicago Cubs host the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday Night Baseball. Each of these NL opponents have a win in this series heading into the third tilt in Chicago tonight.
The Phillies will feature Aaron Nola on the mound, while Jameson Taillon toes the rubber for the Cubs. Oddsmakers currently have this game set to a pick 'em with -108 moneyline odds on Philadelphia and Chicago. The run total is leaning under an even 8 at -115 odds.
The Cubs sit atop the NL Central at 17-11 with a +41 run differential. The Phillies occupy second-place in the NL East at 14-13, sporting a -2 run differential. Philadelphia just snapped a five-game losing skid with a dominant 10-4 win at Wrigley Field on Saturday.
MLB handicapper Matt MacKay has constructed his latest MLB Same Game Parlay (SGP) ahead of tonight's Sunday Night Baseball game between the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs with the latest odds. He's coming off of a +383 MLB SGP winner during the Padres' 3-2 road win over Houston last Sunday night.

Phillies vs. Cubs Same-Game Parlay
LEG 1: CHICAGO CUBS MONEYLINE (-108)
Chicago has shown a consistent ability to bounce back after losses through the early portion of the 2025 MLB season. The roster upgrades have made an immediate impact, especially on offense, with the Cubs ranked first in the league with 6.19 runs scored per game.
Aaron Nola has lost all five starts for the Phillies this year. Obviously this trend will end at some point but it's going to be a difficult assignment for Nola to take down the MLB's best hitting team on the road in prime time.
Nola has allowed five to nine hits in all five starts, leading to a 6.43 ERA and 10 walks across his last three starts. Chicago's bats are simply too hot for Nola to cool off right now.
The Cubs have won six straight home games following a loss. They've lost back-to-back games twice so far, starting 0-2 in Tokyo against the Los Angeles Dodgers in mid-March, followed by a two-game schnide against the Texas Rangers and Dodgers in early April.
Let's back the better team in a bounce-back spot at home and take the Cubs' moneyline at -108 odds.
LEG 2: JAMESON TAILLON OVER 4.5 STRIKEOUTS (-122)
Jameson Taillon isn't setting the world on fire with his pitching but he's going up against a Phillies lineup that's been striking out quite a bit lately. Philadelphia is averaging 9.00 strikeouts per game during its last three games played, tied seventh-most in the MLB during this recent stretch.
The right-handed pitcher is 1-1 with a 4.73 ERA. Taillon's had four solid starts following a bad debut against Arizona, holding three of four opponents during this stretch to two or less runs.
Most importantly for this leg of our MLB Same-Game Parlay, Taillon has shown the ability to record strikeouts in 2025. He's gone over 4.5 strikeouts in three of five starts. He's only gone under this number against the Diamondbacks and Padres, who are both top-five in fewest strikeouts per game.
Let's back Taillon to stay locked in on the mound tonight and rack up five or more strikeouts at -122 odds for the second leg of our MLB Same-Game Parlay.
LEG 3: PETE CROW-ARMSTRONG OVER 0.5 HIT (-165)
23-year-old Cubs CF Pete Crow-Armstrong is one of the most underrated players on this team right now. Oddsmakers are undervaluing Crow-Armstrong to record a hit at -165 odds, despite being third on the Cubs in total hits (31) this season.
Crow-Armstrong has five hits in his last four games played, failing to record a hit during Saturday's loss to Philadelphia, snapping a three-game hit streak. I expect a big game from him against a shaky Nola on the mound on Sunday night.
We've watched Crow-Armstrong rack up clutch doubles and home runs so far and I doubt this changes in a favorable matchup tonight. The former 19th overall pick in the 202 MLB June Amateur Draft will add his second hit in this series against Nola or Philadelphia's bullpen during Sunday Night Baseball.
Crow-Armstrong's hit brings us home to cash this +321 MLB Same-Game Parlay between the Phillies and Cubs at Wrigley Field on Sunday Night Baseball. The formula is easy.
Start by backing the better hitting team, Chicago, at home off of a loss. Then, add the Cubs' starting pitcher to record five or more strikeouts against a Phillies lineup currently in a hitting lull. Pete Crow-Armstrong to record his 32nd hit of the season allows us to cash this lucrative +321 MLB Same-Game Parlay during a quality matchup on Sunday Night Baseball.
