When the Atlanta Hawks and Indiana Pacers tip off on Tuesday night, history will be made. This NBA matchup features the highest total in modern NBA history. The last two times an NBA total was higher than 250 both involved the Pacers two years ago, and both games soared over. Will we see another over tonight between the Hawks and Pacers as they take the floor in a game with the highest total in modern NBA history?

Indiana Pacers vs. Atlanta Hawks Prediction
It’s not surprising to see a total between these two teams get set this high. These are two of the worst defenses in the NBA with some of the quickest tempos on offense. Both of these teams can score, especially the Pacers, who are clearly outperforming the betting market offensively. They are 11-1 to the over this season, and the Hawks are a respectable 7-4-1. This early in the season, it doesn’t seem like oddsmakers have fully caught on to how good and bad these offenses and defenses are, respectfully.
When these two teams played in Atlanta last year, the total got up to 249.5 and soared over with nearly 275 total points. This total opened up at 250, and has since been steamed up to 252.5. With less than 42% of the bets currently backing the over, it doesn’t look like public money is causing this total to inflate...
I don’t just like this total because it’s the highest we’ve seen in NBA history. I love the fact that we’re “buying low” on these two offenses after the Pacers shot an abysmal 25% from three in their last game and the Hawks dropped their last two games at home. Trae Young will come out firing, looking to avenge some recent losses and tough shooting performances last week.
If a total is so high that it set’s an NBA record, it’s in your best interest to responsibly wager on the over. De’Andre Hunter will be looking to bounce back after his first career ejection and Dejounte Murray is having a career year offensively. This is a matchup made in Heaven for an over, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there were over 300 points in this contest. Bet the over, and enjoy the show.
