There are plenty of great college basketball games on today, as some people are calling this the best slate of the season so far. I agree, and I’m excited to tune into some of these top-25 matchups tonight… but that doesn’t mean we get to only bet the games on TV. I just found one of my favorite plays of the early college basketball season— let me take you to this epic ASUN vs Big South matchup…

High Point vs. Queens Prediction
A game between High Point and Queens might not sound too exciting on paper, but these offenses can score the basketball at ease. When they faced off last year at High Point, these teams cashed the over with ease. They’ve also cashed the over in every game they’ve played in so far this season.
Queens might be without star point-guard Kenny Dye this season, but they kept AJ McKee and brought in a slew of transfers to fill the gaps of their already-deep veteran rotation. The Royals like to push the tempo, and are in the top-50 for most possessions per game this season. One of the best offensive rebounding teams in the country last year, the only thing this team really lacks is a defensive presence in the paint. They've really struggled on defense so far, giving up 90 points on average to Marshall and SIU already this year.
High Point brought in two impressive transfers this offseason, Duke Miles from Troy and Kimani Hamilton from Mississippi State. This guard/forward combo dropped a combined 48 points against Wofford last week. I put Queens and Wofford’s defensive abilities on a relatively similar level, as both Miles and Hamilton are in for a great matchup against the Royals’ suspect defense.
The Panthers like to run with tempo as well, sitting in the top-25 in possessions per game this year. This game is going to look like a track-meet, and more like an NBA game than a college game. These two teams might not have the star-studded rosters of the teams playing in the Champions Classic tonight, but they do have fast-tempo offenses with coaches who love to push the ball down the court. High Point’s coach did come from Creighton’s fast-paced system, which explains their high-scoring games so far this season.
Back both of these teams to run up the score and put up plenty of points on ESPN+ tonight. These schools might not be “household names,” but this will still be one of the most exciting games of this loaded CBB slate.
