It’s been a tough two weeks for Kyle Filipowski. The Duke Blue Devils lost back to back games last week and the star center had two of his worst offensive performances of the season. Will Filipowski bounce back against Hofstra on Tuesday night for a big performance?

Hofstra vs. Duke Prediction
This Hofstra team is one of the smallest in the country. Besides 6’10” senior Jacco Fritz, who’s been known to get in foul trouble a time or two, the Pride don’t have a player over 6’8” who plays more than 13 minutes per game.
Although I think Hofstra will keep this game close and cover, they will stay in this game with their offense, not defense. Filipowski has a great matchup tonight, and after two bad games, I’m willing to bet he bounces back tonight in a big way.
Hofstra keeping this game close is a big reason as to why I want to back Filipowski to soar over on his points prop. If this was going to be a blowout, I wouldn’t want to back a Duke player because I’d be worried about an unexpected decrease in minutes. Tonight, the Blue Devils are going to need Filipowski to be agressive on the offensive end to keep up with Hofstra’s sharpshooters.
This game will be full of points, as Hofstra like’s to play a little faster than Duke. They will try to speed up the Blue Devils, resulting in more shot opportunities for Filipowski. The Pride also just got crushed by two of Saint Louis’ bigs for a combined 39 points in their last game.
If Jacco Fritz gets in foul trouble tonight, Hofstra will have no answer for Filipowski. The big man from the Netherland fouled out in his last game in only 13 minutes. He’s fouled out in half of Hofstra’s games this season against D1 opponents. If Coach Scheyer is smart, he will attack Fritz early and often; he won’t be able to keep up with Filipowski’s quick feet, resulting in plenty of fouls.
Kyle Filipowski’s points prop already got bumped up today. Bet him to soar over against this small Hofstra team. They might keep it close, but Filipowski is going for 20+ tonight.
