Maryland vs. UCLA Prediction
Maryland comes into tonight's game with a 7-4 record with an 0-2 away record. This Terrapins team is led by Senior guard Jahmir Young averaging 17.7 PPG along with a team high in assist with 46 in this young season through just 11 games. Young is the face of this Maryland squad. I expect big things tonight from No. 1 (Young) so keep your eyes on him tonight.
Big man Julian Reese, a Junior from Baltimore, has stepped up this year compared to last year. His Minutes Per Game are up, and he is averaging a double-double so far this year averaging 15.2 PPG and 10.2 RPG. Young and Reese have proved that they lead this Terrapins team this year, but they have a difficult task on their hands tonight.
UCLA comes into tonight's matchup with a 5-5 record, however they have defending their home court well with a home record of 4-1. Although this Bruins team have lost four of their last five, I think that this is a good bounce back spot for Coach Mick Cronin and this UCLA team.
UCLA is led by Freshman Sebastian Mack who is averaging a team high 15 PPG and a team high 2.1 Steals per game. Mack takes care of the ball relatively well and has really stepped into a critical role in his first ten games of his collegiate career. Bona has seen an increase in minutes these past few games and is really playing well. If Bona can stay out of foul trouble, I think that he can cause problems for Maryland on both ends of the court.
I think these UCLA guards will be too much for Maryland tonight and can see the Bruins moving their impressive home record to 5-1 tonight. If UCLA can slow down Young early, I think the Bruins take control of this game and win convincingly.
