The Green Bay Phoenix travel to Detroit, Michigan, today for a date with the Detroit Mercy Titans. The Phoenix enter this game with a 8-7 record and have been doing much better this season than last. They have started conference play 3-1 and will play in their fifth conference game of the season tonight. Meanwhile, Detroit Mercy has been struggling a bit and enters this game with an 0-15 record, as they have yet to win a game this season. Can Green Bay cover this game as short road favorites?

Green Bay vs. Detroit Mercy Prediction
Green Bay parted ways with coach Will Ryan after last season and Sundance Wicks took over as head coach of the Phoenix. Wicks brought in some transfers and talented freshmen to give this team a new look. Most notably, Noah Reynolds transferred in from Wyoming. Reynolds leads the team heavily with 19.4 points per game, and he is star of this team. Wicks also brought in Preston Ruedinger from Valparaiso and Foster Wonders from Southern Illinois.
This new-look team under the new head coach is off to a great start this season. They already have impressive home wins against Wright State and St. Thomas, on top of conference wins over Milwaukee and Robert Morris. In their first conference game of the year, they played Purdue Fort Wayne very close, losing by just four points.
The Detroit Mercy Titans have been struggling to start this season. They are currently ranked bottom 15 in the NET rankings, and they have yet to win a game in 15 tries, starting 0-4 in conference as well. Their offense has struggled with the loss of Antoine Davis, the nations leading three-point shooter last year, and the all-time three-point leader in NCAA men’s basketball history. To make matters worse, one of Detroit Mercy’s best players, Jayden Stone, has missed the last four games with an ankle injury, and is doubtful to play for the Titans tonight.
With how bad Detroit Mercy has looked so far this year, I have no problem fading them once again. They were already not very good last year, but at least Antoine Davis was able to give them a nice jolt on offense. This year they are lacking offensive identity and with the loss of Jayden stone as well. I don’t see how they manage to put up many points against Green Bay tonight. Green Bay, conversely, has looked very good this year and has started 3-1 in conference play, with their lone loss coming to Purdue Fort Wayne. With Sundance wicks now at the helm for the Phoenix, I think Green Bay has a great chance to win this game tonight and cover a short spread as road favorites.
