Penn State vs. Michigan State Prediction

Penn State comes into tonight's matchup with a 7-6 record and 1-1 in Big Ten play beating Ohio State by three and losing to Maryland by six. Although, Penn State straight out red hot with winning their first four games, they have just won three of their last nine games since.

With that being said, Sophomore guard, Kanye Clary is shooting lights out as of recent as he scored 29 points in the last game they played. Clary leads this Nittany Lions team with 18.2 PPG. Clary and Senior guard Ace Baldwin Jr. are the stars of this team as these two guards are the only players on this Penn State team who average double digits in the points column. Baldwin Jr. averages 13.6 PPG as well as team highs in both assists (4.5 APG) and steals (2.7 SPG).

With Clary and Baldwin Jr. being the two scorers for this team, let's not forget about big man Qudus Wahab who almost averages a double-double. Wahab is averaging 9.9 PPG as well as a team high in rebounds (8.8 RPG). With that being said, Wahab accumulates for almost 30% of this teams rebounds as Penn State averages just 30.7 RPG which is 298th in the nation. The glass could be a problem for them tonight as Michigan State is much better than them in this aspect.

Michigan State has been red hot winning their last four games. This Spartan team is 8-5, yet 0-2 in Big Ten play as they lost to No. 21 Wisconsin by 13 and a surprising good Nebraska team by seven.

The Spartans are led by Senior guard Tyson Walker who is averaging 20 PPG which is good enough to be 22nd best in the nation. Michigan States guard play is phenomenal as they score the basketball really well and distribute the ball even better. The Spartans average 18.3 APG which is 14th best in the nation compared to Penn State who just averages 11.7 APG which is 311th in the nation.

Although this Michigan State team is ran by their good guards, they will not live behind the three-point line. This team likes to attack the rim and get mid-range jump shots. Once they attack the rim, this is where a lot of their assists come into to play as they tend to find the open player. This is where they tend to score a lot of their points.

The Breslin Center is going to be rocking tonight. Home court advantage is going to be a big factor tonight as Spartan fans cannot wait to see their team get a W in the win column tonight and their first in Big-Ten play.

With that being said, I do not expect this to be a very up-tempo game tonight as the Spartans tend to play slower and get the shots they like, but if Michigan State can take care of the ball and make their open shots, I expect them to win by 15+ tonight against this Penn State team. Take Michigan State -13 tonight! Let's cash!
