This blue-collar A&M team matches Auburn’s elite physicality and effort at home, which is why they are one of the only teams in the country who have found success here. Tyrece Redford, one of the oldest players in the nation, has plenty of experience to lead A&M to a cover on Tuesday. He’s gotten off to a slow start this season after missing some games due to injury, but he’s starting to get more comfortable down the stretch. He has the driving ability to find success against a solid Auburn perimeter defense known to give up some points at the rack.
The Aggies have one of the best defenses in the nation with stingy guards and bigs who play bigger than their height, like Henry Coleman III and Andersson Garcia. This A&M frontcourt has the grit, skill and tenacity to slow down Jaylin Williams and Johni Broome, Auburn’s two best players. Their five-star freshman point guard Aden Holloway has been impressive this season, but he’s going to struggle mightily against this veteran Aggies backcourt.
I’m not saying that Texas A&M is going to win this game. I’m just stating that they have all the talent and effort to keep this game within 7.5 points. Considering their recent success in the Jungle, I wouldn’t be surprised if Buzz Williams gets another impressive outright victory against Bruce Pearl. Fade the undefeated Tigers at home, their home-court elite advantage doesn’t matter as much against this hardworking veteran Aggies roster.
