If you thought Tuesday’s college basketball slate was loaded, just want until you give Wednesday’s slate a look. There are some elite matchups all across the country on Wednesday night, many of which are elite in-conference games. Here are some of my favorite plays below.

Clemson vs. Virginia Tech Prediction
The Hokies have let us down numerous times already this season, but why not give them one last chance tonight against Clemson? They have a great matchup, and we finally saw the Hokies offense wake up a bit in their three-point loss to Florida State last weekend. Clemson struggles to defend the three, ranked 145th in the country in opposing three-point percentage.
Hunter Cattoor and Sean Pedulla have prime matchups against a weak perimeter defense. This team plays much better at Cassell Coliseum; we’ve seem them pull off crazy upsets against the ACC’s best on a yearly basis in Blacksburg. Tonight will be no different, as the Hokies are barely an underdog tonight for a reason. Bet the Hokies to cover this short spread, and I’ll meet you at the cash counter.

Tennessee vs. Mississippi State Prediction
Coach Jans’ Bulldogs are one of my favorite teams this year. Tolu Smith, their best player, shouldn’t be on a minutes-restriction after balling out in his first two games back. Their opponent tonight isn’t as physical as they were last season, and that might cost them a win on the road tonight against Mississippi State.
Tennessee might be the sixth-ranked team in the country, but they are a tad overrated and Mississippi State matches up perfectly with the Vols. They have the size and veterans the hang with this old Tennessee squad. There’s a reason why an unranked team coming off a loss to South Carolina is barely an underdog against a top-10 team in the country. Tennessee typically dominates the Bulldogs in this series; seeing Mississippi State at +2.5 is serious respect for Tolu Smith and the Bulldogs. Take the points, but I won’t be shocked when they break the streak and win this game outright.
