What a start to the season it’s been for Coach Holtmann and the Buckeyes. Sure, they are coming off a loss at Assembly Hall to Indiana, but that’s one of the toughest road venues to play at in the country. Wisconsin, on the other hand, is off to an even better start to the season, but they’ll have their hands full against a very physical OSU team on Wednesday.

I’m willing to bet the Buckeyes bounce back against Wisconsin at home as short favorites. I believe in Chris Holtmann’s squad, who’ve been scolded plenty for their underwhelming play in recent years. Coach Holtmann is silencing the hot-seat rumors, and has his Buckeyes playing some of the best basketball I’ve seen in years.
This is a bad matchup for Wisconsin, who defends the perimeter well but struggles to defend the paint. Ohio State can’t shoot, but they have plenty of size to dominate on the inside. Tyler Wahl and Steven Crowl are solid veterans offensively, but these bigs are frail and will struggle against this physical Ohio State team.
Jamison Battle has been this team’s consistent performer on offense since coming over from Minnesota last year. Zed Key and Felix Okpara will be too much to handle for Wisconsin’s frontcourt, especially with Ohio State riding the momentum from their home crowd. The Buckeyes have already dropped a game at home this season; they will be on their toes for a matchup against the streaking Badgers.
Ohio State is going to bully the Badgers in this contest. Back Ohio State on the moneyline as a short favorite.
