Marquette vs. Villanova Prediction
It’s looking like Chase Ross and Sean Jones are not going to be playing tonight, and it’s highly unlikely we see Kam Jones play his normal role after only logging five minutes against Seton Hall over the weekend. This Marquette team has struggled on the road this season. They are .500 in their six games away from their home court, which is scary for two reasons: they’re clearly worse on the road, and they haven’t even played that many tough road games in the first place.
Villanova is going to provide one of the toughest road atmospheres to play in this season against the Golden Eagles tonight. Their season is on the line; they simply cannot afford another home Big East loss. Luckily for the Wildcats, it’s looking like Marquette is going to be short-handed tonight.
I still don’t understand how this Villanova team hasn’t put it together yet. They have two stud veterans in Eric Dixon and Justin Moore, and they added TJ Bamba (WSU) and Tyler Burton (Richmond), some of the best transfer portal options in the country. Maybe it’s coaching, as this team has yet to really thrive in the post-Jay Wright era. Good think the former coach was seen chatting with some of his former players this week…
The Wildcats have some of the sharpest splits of the day on both their spread and moneyline tonight. Less than 40% of the bets are currently backing them to cover, but with nearly 60% of the handle. As big bets continue to pour-in on the Wildcats as a sharp home-favorites, make sure you put at least a unit on them tonight. I have a feeling we’re about to see a highly-motivated Villanova team with their season on the line and a banged-up Kam Jones on the court for Marquette.
