Colorado State is having a solid season, but they are coming off a very bad loss in which they choked a double-digit lead in the final minute of the second half against Wyoming. Can they bounce back at home against San Diego State in this Mountain West showdown? Let's break it down.

San Diego State vs. Colorado State Prediction
The Rams enter this heavyweight Mountain West showdown with a record of 15-5. They entered the top 25, but have now lost two games in a row against Nevada and Wyoming. Colorado State was manhandled on the road against the Wolfpack as they lost by 13, and then followed that up with a solid performance against Wyoming. That is, until the final minute of the game. The Rams were leading the Cowboys by 11 with less than a minute left when disaster struck. They started panicking. They turned the ball over, missed free throws, couldn't secure defensive rebounds, and eventually blew their double-digit lead in just 50 seconds which sent the game to overtime. Once the game went to OT, all of the momentum was against the Rams, and they would eventually lose 79-76 to finish off a massive choke job.
The good news for Colorado State is that they get to return home tonight where they have been one of the best teams in the Mountain West. They enter this matchup with a record of 10-1 at home with their lone loss coming to Saint Mary's on December 9th by a score of 64-61. Other than that, the Rams have taken down every opponent they have faced in Fort Collins, including solid wins over Colorado, New Mexico, and UNLV.
Tonight, they take on San Diego State, who is having another solid season as they enter this game with a record of 16-4, but they have struggled on the road in tougher environments. The Aztecs were blown out on the road against BYU and New Mexico and also lost close road games to Boise State and Grand Canyon. Not to mention the Aztecs also struggling on the road with lesser teams including San Jose State and UC San Diego.
San Diego State's defense has not been nearly as stifling on the road as it has been at home, as they are allowing an average of 75 points per game this year in their road contests. They allowed 88 to New Mexico in what was an 18-point loss to the Lobos in a game that is similarly lined to this one. I fully expect Colorado State to bounce back on their home court tonight, where they have played their best ball this season. With that being said, I am rolling with Colorado State ML at -134 odds for 1.5 units as my most confident college basketball play of the day for tonight's loaded slate.
