Michigan vs. Penn State Prediction

This game will go a long way in deciding who plays in the Big Ten Championship and, more importantly, a spot in the college football playoff.

Michigan enters this game with a perfect 9-0 record.

The Wolverines are ranked third in the nation.

Quarterback JJ McCarthy leads this Wolverines offense. McCarthy, who is considered a candidate to win the Heisman Trophy award, has thrown for 2,134 yards, 18 touchdowns, and three interceptions.

Running back Blake Corum has been the team's top option in the rushing game. Corum has rushed for 649 yards and one touchdown.

Wide receiver Roman Wilson has been the top target of McCarthy. Wilson has racked up a team-best 589 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Michigan has been the number one defense in the nation. The Wolverines defense has allowed just 6.7 points allowed per game.

Penn State begins play with an 8-1 record.

The Nittany Lions' lone loss came to the number one team in the nation, the Ohio State Buckeyes.

This is one of the biggest games for Penn State in the last few years.

Head Coach James Franklin has enjoyed loads of success at Penn State, but has struggled against Michigan with a record of 3-6.

Drew Allar leads this Penn State offense. Allar, a five-star recruit, has thrown for 1,895 yards, 20 touchdowns and one interception.

Wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith has been the top option of Allar. Lambert-Smith has racked up 645 yards and four touchdowns.

The Nittany Lions' defense ranks third in the nation, allowing opponents 12.5 points per game.

Michigan vs. Penn State Pick

Penn State has been a great home team in the Franklin era.

This is a great spot for the Nittany Lions.

Michigan is a heavy public favorite, and I will gladly fade them and back the home dog this weekend.

Penn State will be able to run the football effectively and sustain drives.

Defensively, the Nittany Lions are good enough to keep this game tight.
