Texas State vs. Rice Prediction: Do the Bobcats Have the Edge at SERVPRO First Responder Bowl?

Well we have a pretty small slate today as we are still without hockey for one more night due to the break for the holidays but on the bright side, Bowl Season is upon us and I am pumped for some afternoon action today.

Texas State vs. Rice Prediction

This is not the most start studded contest by any means but at the end of the day, football is football and both of these squads have done some good things this year. Texas State (7-5) will clash with Rice (6-6) at the Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas, Texas, for this edition of the 2023 SERVPRO First Responder Bowl.

I love this Texas State offense and think they move the ball well today but at the end of the day they do not play much defense either and that is why I like the total here. They have conceded a minimum of 24 points in nine straight games and 31+ in seven of those games. Rice will move the ball and if Texas State turns the ball over like they have this season (14 fumbles, nine interceptions) they will give Rice the extra opportunities needed to get points on the board.

Rice signal caller JT Daniels is a seasoned veteran however it appears he will not be playing today and that is why I ultimately do believe Texas State has the edge here. The Bobcats can light things up and should, they have no key opt outs and I expect them to try to set the tone in this game early.
