There are two great College Football Bowl Games on Wednesday night between North Carolina versus West Virginia and Louisville versus USC. Here are some of my favorite plays in these two games.
College Football Bowl Picks
North Carolina vs. West Virginia Prediction
The Tar Heels started off strong this year, but finished the season 8-4. They have a CVS receipt of opt-outs for the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, including Drake May and numerous starters. Here is a list of all the UNC players that aren’t participating in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, per Covers.com:
- Drake Maye, QB (NFL Draft)
- Justin Kanyuk, IOL (Transfer portal)
- George Pettaway, RB (Transfer portal)
- Andre Greene Jr., WR (Transfer portal)
- Tychaun Chapman, WR (Transfer portal)
- Major Byrd, CB (Transfer portal)
- Ryan Coe, K (Transfer portal)
- Elijah Green, RB (Transfer portal)
- Jefferson Boaz, QB (Transfer portal)
- Kedrick Bingley-Jones (Transfer portal)
- Kamari Morales, TE (Transfer portal)
- Tayon Holloway, DB (Transfer portal)
I’m sure there will be even more Tar Heels who decide to sit out this meaningless matchup. On the other sideline, there are only a few West Virginia players sitting out for this contest, hence why they are -6.5 against a “much better” North Carolina team. In Bowl games, you have to cap motivation just a much as talent, and West Virginia looks like they will be way more motivated in this one. Back West Virginia on the spread; North Carolina is already looking ahead to next season.

Louisville vs. USC Prediction
Caleb Williams will (unsurprisingly) be sitting the DIRECTV Holiday Bowl out, getting ready for the NFL Draft. There are plenty of opt-outs for USC, but with the effort level and results we saw throughout the season, maybe that will be a good thing for the Trojans. Many of these backups will be looking to secure roster spots or starting roles for next season.
Miller Moss is projected to start for USC on Wednesday. He’s looked sharp in a limited sample this season, and the sophomore will be looking to earn a spot under center for the Trojans next season with an elite performance tonight. This Louisville team is dead, coming off two losses to Kentucky and Florida State that ended their brief College Football Playoff hopes. Back the Trojans getting a touchdown on the spread, and don’t be surprised if they win outright.
