UNC vs. West Virginia Prediction: Can Garrett Greene, Mountaineers Shine at Duke's Mayo Bowl?

Well we are fresh off the sweep on the gridiron yesterday and I am ready to keep the momentum rolling here today. The first NCAAF play I want us to dive into takes us to Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, as the West Virginia Mountaineers clash with the North Carolina Tar Heels in the Duke's Mayo Bowl.

UNC vs. West Virginia Prediction

Had these teams met earlier in the season, this line would likely be flipped but here at the end of the 2023 campaign that is not the case. Once a Heisman candidate and more importantly the Tar Heels starting quarterback Drake Maye has opted out of the bowl game to prepare for the NFL Draft.

Number one wideout Tez Walker and standout linebacker Cedric Walker have also decided to forgo the game. They still have talent but are missing some really important pieces and are at a point where they are disappointed with the outcome of the season in my eyes.

On the flip side, West Virginia is picking up steam with a win here. A lot of the key pieces are returning for this team next season and red hot quarterback Garrett Greene is the first name on the top of that list.

West Virginia went 4-1 down the stretch and the offense is clicking. The Tar Heels are nothing special on the defensive side of the ball and if you make Conner Harrell play from behind, this could get ugly.
