This is among the most square bets I have ever locked in for our golf wagers and I could not care less, this is the Players Championship and the best field in professional golf (outside of the Majors) will be taking on TPC Sawgrass this week in the PGA TOUR's flagship event. There are a lot of big guns out there this week and while there are twenty guys I think can find a way into the winners circle, there is only one I can being up near the top of the board regardless of what happens.

PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP Prediction
Last year, Scheffler won the Players with just 0.03 strokes gained putting yet he led the field in total strokes gained at +4.32 and that doubled all but four other players. Scottie leads the tour in scoring average, strokes gained overall, strokes gained off the tee and leads the PGA tour in GIR's at 78% - at one of the most scoreable courses on tour if you can hit the greens, that is a recipe for success. Week in, week out he puts on an absolute ball striking clinic and his only issue is putting.

Everyone else on tour should be terrified.
Taking him outright at +550 is not something I can sink my teeth into but betting him to be on the front page of that leaderboard at a price I'd straight bet anything else I loved is something I can get behind. The best player in the world is golfing his ball in a league of his own right now and if there's anyone I can consistently trust will be at the top of the board come Sunday, it is Scottie Scheffler.
