Well we have a solid NHL slate on this fine Tuesday and I am ready to dive into some action I am really digging tonight. The first game I want us to dive into takes us to St. Louis as the Blues host the Tampa Bay Lightning in what should be an exciting affair.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. St. Louis Blues Prediction
Both of these squads have brought home a Stanley Cup in the last few seasons and while both may have regressed a bit, they are still solid squads, especially Tampa Bay. They still have the core superstars that make this team elite and lethal, and they are not to be meddled with.
On the flip side, this was supposed to be another down year for the Blues, but it has been fine thus far. Berube has the boys sitting at 5-2 at home and 7-5-1 on the season. They have won four of their last five games, and are coming off a massive 8-2 victory over Colorado. I like this home spot for the Blues and think the line screams St. Louis.
In terms of scoring, I believe this game has the potential to be a high scoring affair but if it is, the scoring should start early. The first period has gone over in seven of the last ten games for both of these squads and Tampa Bay is currently tied for the third-best GIFT (goal in first ten minutes) team in the league at 11/15 hitting at a 73.33% clip; they are 7-3 for the GIFT in their last 10 and so is St. Louis. I think we see a spirited effort from both squads here as the Blues look to remain red hot at home, and Tampa looks to get right on the road.
