The first period wagers were not kind to us last night, but I am looking for a bounce back spot here this evening. We only have a four game slate, but we have some solid games to get after and I want to dive into this early clash between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Carolina Hurricanes.

Philadelphia Flyers vs. Carolina Hurricanes Prediction
These two squads play each other a lot, and things tend to be really exciting. The last two meetings in this series both came in Philly, where Carolina was able to sneak away with one-goal victories.
I have watched a lot of these Philly/Carolina clashes, and they all have a boatload of pace early in the games. With the recent track record Carolina has against Philly, the Flyers have to feel like they have nothing to lose at this point, and I expect them to come out firing. Both teams to score in the first period might be an interesting look too as I can see a 1-1 score, but I like them to get it going early here regardless.
Philly is among the best in the league for both first period overs and GIFTS this season, at 11/15 for both and 7-3 across their last 10 games for both. Carolina has cooled off a bit, but is still 10/15 with Sebastian Aho at the helm of their explosive offense. They also have some questionable defensive play that is still lingering.
