NHL Picks Today: How to Bet on Tuesday's NHL Games
Well, we have a loaded NHL slate today and I want to dive into some period plays that I am digging. This is definitely on the weirder side of the wagers we have made so far this season (we are getting into it with one of these plays) but I like these spots and I'm ready to attack.
NHL Picks Today
Detroit Red Wings vs. St. Louis Blues
It's a very weird trend for St. Louis right now. They are a team that generally grinds out the first period has catapulted into the league's top five rankings for first period scoring at 17/26 on the season and they are 9-1 across their last ten games. They also rank fourth best in the league for GIFTS this season and are 9-1 across their last ten games there as well.
Detroit isn't spectacular for the 1p o1.5 or GIFT but they are not awful either and with the way they are playing right now, I expect pace. Detroit has dropped three straight and conceded 17 goals in those three games. I think the Blues get their licks in tonight but Detroit comes out of the gates hard ready to rebound, we see goals early.

NHL Parlay
This is a crazy weird play but I like it. Ottawa is the best 2p o1.5 team in the league and have missed in just two of their games all season. I really do not need to say more, that is a crazy good clip and if we can get a tight first period here like Carolina tries to play, two in the second seems easy.
For the second leg, this one is self explanatory. Chicago concedes a lot of goals and ranks up there for early scoring; Edmonton ranks higher for early scoring and they look like themselves again ever since the head coaching change. The last three meetings between these teams all saw 9+ goals, I think they start early in Edmonton.
