To kick off this awesome NHL slate, I want to take a trip down to South Florida. The St. Louis Blues will be playing in Amalie Arena for the first time this season as they head south for a clash with the Tampa Bay Lightning in what should be a great hockey game.

St. Louis Blues vs. Tampa Bay Lightning Prediction
Tampa Bay is struggling defensively this season sitting with a 3.53 GAA on the season, fifth worst in the league. They are without question better defensively at home in comparison to the road where they actually are the worst team defensively in the league; with that said, I still think they can have some defensive issues tonight.
Andrei Vasilevskiy will be in net and the star net minder is always capable of a Vezina level outing, but right now he is not in form. Still trying to find his groove following the back surgery, Vas is 5-5 with a 3.02 GAA and sub .900 save percentage. Jordan Binnington will star opposite at 10-9-1 with a 3.05 GAA and save percentage a bit over .900.
St. Louis beat Tampa Bay 5-0 on home ice earlier this season so I expect a motivated effort out of Tampa Bay but I do not expect there to be a lack of motivation for St. Louis. Since parting ways with former head coach Craig Berube, the Blues are 2-0 with back-to-back victories over Ottawa and Dallas. They have scored twelve goals in their last three games and the offense appears to be firing on all cylinders with these young guys and should be fired up tonight.
