Montreal Canadiens vs. Carolina Hurricanes Prediction: Can Cole Caulfield, Canadiens Match Scoring with Canes?
Well we got things going again on the ice yesterday after the short holiday break, and although we have a much smaller slate, I still have action I am digging. The first play I want us to dive into takes us PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina as the Montreal Canadiens (15-13-5) visit the Carolina Hurricanes (18-13-4) in a game I like the lamp to be lit.

Montreal Canadiens vs. Carolina Hurricanes Prediction
Carolina looked solid yesterday in a 5-2 win over Nashville, and while they remain one of the most talented teams in the league, they still are not firing on all cylinders this season. They once possessed a lockdown defense, but are now finding themselves in track meets constantly. The play on the back end has been inconsistent all season, and the Canes are giving up north of three goals a game more often then not. The goaltending has been an issue, and until one of them stands out (like I know they are capable of doing), I am going to expect these high-scoring affairs.
The Habs are one of the few teams that did not play yesterday, so they are incredibly well-rested and should have the jump here tonight. The young squad is still figuring things out, but they have key pieces stepping up into important roles, and I love what Martin St. Louis is doing to the team. Canes are the better squad all around, but they have played down to the level of their competition all season long, which will open the door for Montreal.
