This is a sort of frisky wager, but if I am being completely honest, it just jumped off the board for me. It's the first bet I locked in today, and my gut is just feeling it. We have an absolutely loaded NHL slate tonight, and I am looking to get after it. To kick off our evening, we are heading to Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, where the Avalanche (23-11-3) will host the New York Islanders (17-10-9), and I think this one has the potential to see some fireworks.

New York Islanders vs. Colorado Avalanche Prediction
Neither team is spectacular on the defensive side of things, and while the netminders between the pipes have played okay this season, they have been inconsistent. Alexander Georgiev has a 2.86 GAA after a string of strong outings, but is also sporting a sub .890 save percentage on the season. On the flip side, Semyon Varlamov will get the nod over Sorokin tonight with a 2.75 GAA and .918 save percentage. Normally, numbers like that would not have me dying to take an over, but I really just love this matchup. I told y'all this is a gut play for me.
Colorado is electric offensively and is coming off back-to-back low scoring wins. I love this spot for them with momentum on home ice, and having won three of their last four, I can assure you they want to score tonight. On the flip side, the Isles have been one of my favorite teams in the league this season, especially lately. They have been in a lot of high-scoring affairs and are getting away from their standard defensive style of play. They've especially been forcing the issue more in the attacking third. I like this one at six a lot, four of the last five between these squads have gone over.
