Well we have a loaded board on the ice today in honor of the holiday and I want to dive into the evening portion of the slate. To kick off our evening, we are heading up north to Montreal for a clash at the Bell Centre between the Canadiens (17-18-7) and the Colorado Avalanche (28-12-3) and I like the Avalanche to keep the train rolling here tonight.

Colorado Avalanche vs. Montreal Canadiens Prediction
Nathan MacKinnon and the Avalanche are playing damn good hockey right now, no other way to put it. You can have the super star talent and not show up but they are not doing that, this team looks lethal and hungry to win. They have won four of their last five and have scored 21 goals across those five games. They are sporting the second best offensive unit in the league with a 3.63 GPG average and arguably the most lethal power play unit in the league.
Montreal is the fifth worst team in the league offensively on home ice averaging 2.51 GPG and the overall is nit much better at 2.60. I love this young group of guys, Cole Caufield is a stud and Martin St. Louis is a legend but they are heavily outgunned in this one here tonight. Montreal has lost four of their last five games and five straight to Colorado, most recently an 8-4 win in Montreal for the Avs. Jake Allen is in net for the Habs sporting a 3.52 GAA and record of 4-8-2 on the year.
