The second game we are diving into tonight takes us up north again (big week on the ice in Canada) as the Boston Bruins (29-9-9) visit the Ottawa Senators (18-24-1) for a clash at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario.

Well we got burned on the Bruins total last night but I am going to bite again here for a few reasons. Before the loss, David Pastrnak and Boston had won five straight games averaging five goals a game in that time frame; they average 3.45 GPG, fifth best in the league. After being held to just two last night against a Carolina Hurricanes squad that played great, they have a get back spot here against Ottawa.
I have told you all before, I like this Ottawa squad and they are playing better hockey than the record suggests, they just are conceding a lot. Normally Boston would be expected to maybe lose a step here playing the weaker league of the back-to-back and coming off the loss but Ottawa is a team they can still jump all over.
The Senators play in the highest scoring games on average in the entire league at 6.93 total goals per game. They are conceding a league third worst 3.58 GPG and despite the awful play on the back end are still scoring enough to contribute here in my opinion.
Lastly, we wrap up on the period data. Ottawa ranks first in the league for the first period over at 31/43 hitting at a 72.09% clip and they are 7-3 across their last ten. They rank second best for the 2P o1.5 at 81.4%. Both squads are 7-3 in the last ten 1p o1.5 as well as 9-1 in the last ten 3p o1.5.
