Forecast Prices: Constitution River 13/8, Item 9/4, Almaqam 9/2, A Boy Named Susie 7/1, Wimbledon Hawkeye 16/1, Hawk Mountain 25/1, Hotazhell 20/1, Lambourn 50/1

oddschecker Verdict

Item, Almaqam and CONSTITUTION RIVER crossed the line in that order in the Juddmonte International and are very hard to see beyond. The hot favourite Ombudsman failed to give his running in that premium contest on the Knavesmire and events conspired to produce a messy race. Things certainly didn't go to plan for Constitution River, whose expected pacemaker couldn't live with the early gallop, while the son of Wootton Bassett was himself too keen and stumbled early. A more composed display can see the French Derby and Eclipse hero restore his reputation and get back to winning ways, at the likely main expense of his two York rivals.

Prediction: 1st Constitution River, 2nd Item, 3rd Almaqam
