Off the mark at Fairyhouse in September, he won his two subsequent starts at this venue and despite the handicapper having had his say, the Exceed And Excel gelding may just have another race in him. A winner here for Ger Lyons as a juvenile, By The Lake made a bright start for Derek McCormack when just touched off at Navan in August.
