Wednesday’s T20 blast televised game looks a cracker as Sussex entertain Somerset at Hove. Sussex, victorious in their last game against champions Gloucestershire, looked brutal with the bat smashing 242 off their 20 overs. They did only win the game by a single run, thanks to the Duckworth Lewis method but, with New Zealand International Ross Taylor hitting 93 off just 48 balls and all other (apart from Cachopa) top order batsmen scoring at a strike rate of over 170, they certainly look a team in form.

Somerset didn’t fare so greatly. Despite scoring an impressive 197, they were chased down in a mere 17.2 overs by Kent, who look a real force to win the competition. Worrying signs for Somerset with the bat. Jim Allenby (91 off 59) and big-hitting all-rounder Peter Trego (57 off 30) looked impressive but no one else got into double figures. The bowling was nothing short of terrible.

Chris Gayle and Mahela Jayawardene line up for Somerset who need no introduction. Gayle had an amazing run for Somerset last year scoring 91, 151no and 85no in his only 3 games. Open an account with BETFRED and when you bet £10, you get £30!

Momentum plays a big part in county cricket and with a good home record, variety in their bowling attack and an in-form International batsman in Ross Taylor, Sussex are my choice to win this one at 4-5, overcoming the potential Gayle Force.

If you are looking for a slightly safer bet, there appears take a look at the maiden's market. As I've mentioned, both teams scored big last time so do not expect any maiden's to be bowled in this match. Get on under 0.5 maidens at 1/4.
