England v Pakistan Fourth ODI - Thursday 14:00, Sky Sports 2
You have to sit back and admire this England team, who are not only dominating Pakistan but are arguably developing the 50 over format as a spectacle. Going into the fourth game in the series, it’s difficult to see anything but the home side winning comfortably.
The hosts seem simply too strong for their touring counterparts, especially in the batting department. England’s bowlers restricted the tourists to 275 last time out, which is some effort on that track. Chris Woakes removed the top three Pakistan batsmen and continued his impressive summer with figures of 4-41. Headingley should suit his style of bowling and he’s my pick to top the England bowling.
Joe Root is looking very comfortable against the Pakistan bowlers and returns to his home ground. He scored a hundred back in 2014 against India, and I expect him to top score for England in this one. You quite often see opening batsmen get themselves in at this venue too. Strauss and Jayawardene both have one day hundreds here in recent years and the form of England’s top three is very good, so England to have the highest score after 15 overs looks a safe bet.
