Watford v Liverpool – Monday 20:00, Sky Sports 1
Watford can enjoy their remaining fixtures without any pressure as they sit in mid-table, safe from relegation but with European qualification out of reach, though Walter Mazzarri will hope his side can maintain their position and finish in the top half. They’ve lost and failed to score in each of their last four away, including in their last match against Hull, but at home they’ve won three on the trot with accompanying clean sheets.
Liverpool were found wanting by Palace, as has happened so often in the past few seasons, and with Arsenal and the Manchester clubs all holding a couple of games in hand, their hold on a Champions League place for next season looks less than secure. They’ve now kept just one clean sheet in nine, but have only failed to score once in their last 22, and so we expect there to be a few goals in this one.
Watford haven’t failed to score at home in six, and having lost but found the net on home turf against Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs this season, we’re backing Liverpool/both teams to score at 3.25. Indeed, Liverpool ran out 6-1 winners in the reverse fixture at Anfield, and while we’re not expecting a repeat scoreline, we think Jurgen Klopp’s side can inflict a third defeat in four on the Hornets.
