Man City have scored 17 goals in their last three home games
Man City v Burnley – Saturday 15:00
Man City are in imperious form for the visit of Burnley having scored 17 goals in their last three home games and shouldn’t have any problems picking up another three points. Burnley have done superbly despite a very tough set of away fixtures so far but they’ve also ridden their luck at times and their struggles at home suggest we should take their away results with a pinch of salt.
They’ve scored just five goals in their last seven games and a lack of firepower remains a major concern as their season develops. With City having conceded just 15 times across their last 24 games this should be a routine win to nil.
Whilst Burnley might lack a threat going forward they are a well organized and disciplined unit at the back. Particularly early on, as 21 of their last 30 matches have been level at half-time. City have been all-square at half-time three times this season and have taken all three points on each occasion. Meanwhile, Burnley are yet to win an away games since the start of last season when they’ve been level at half-time and six of their trips to the top eight last term were Draw/Losses on the HT/FT market.
Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane all have four goals from Man City’s four home games this term, with three of Sane’s goals coming after 60 minutes. Given his electric pace, he’s likely to have more chances late on as the game gets stretched, and we’re backing him to round things of with the final goal.
